Today, our baby girl turns two! This fact has pretty much leaves me at a loss for words. Fortunately, I came across a sweet poem that captures my thoughts perfectly:

But, after all of our guests had gone home, I bribed my little blueberry girl with a macaroon or three and took a few images before taking down the decorations.

This is the family that won a session through my KidFriendly DC giveaway. We decided to hold the shoot at a local rose garden and it was the perfect spot to capture these little free spirits.
After being spoiled with the most delicious pancake breakfast made by my own family, I went to capture some images of this beautiful one. I could not have had a more lovely Mother's Day morning.
This little fellow had the best cheeks, the sweetest disposition, and an early love for cars!
The weather could not have been nicer today, so, we decided to go for a ride and pick some berries. It was love at first bite in the strawberry patch.
Sometimes, the weather is just perfect. Sometimes, the kids are just in a great mood. Sometimes, the session just flows. This was one of those evenings. I love this little family of four and loved capturing how they love each other.
I was excited take a trip back to my old D.C. neighborhood to capture this sweet family of three. Such a beautiful life they are building.
Hello! I have fallen a bit behind on my blogging. I'd love to catch up starting with this sweet spring session. The blossoms may have been short-lived this year, but we were able to find a few holdouts. I think there is nothing more pretty than the District in bloom.
This is David. He is perfect and his parents are naturals. I can't wait to show you some more images soon.
I have to admit that sometimes I find it very difficult not to nibble on my clients. Look at this child.
The question that I probably get asked most often related to family sessions is: "What should we wear?" My style of photography is relaxed and casual. I live for capturing those small, in-between moments that tell that family's specific story. So, I advise that clients to wear clothes that comfortable in. Clothes that they feel great in. Clothes that they feel themselves in.
I also tell clients to "coordinate, and not match" as a family.
But, if you are like me, that doesn't mean much without a visual aid. I recently put these two guides together as examples of the "Coordinating Approach" to dressing for a family shoot.

We took a trip to a local horse show this weekend. This fellow was my favorite. His eyes seemed very wise.
This beautiful child was a living doll. Those big blue eyes, that porcelain skin and those cheeks! Simply a doll.
There is something so completely beautiful about a mother-to-be. A radiance that cannot be denied. I am beyond thrilled to now offer maternity sessions to document this exciting time in a family's life. And, knowing that I will get to meet their little bundle in just a few makes these sessions all the more sweet.
