Film

2012

Regardless what the future holds, I am always going to be grateful for 2012.  It was my first full year working as a photographer and important to me in so many ways.  So much thanks to all of my clients.  You have made what seemed, at times, like such a pipe dream actually come true.  Thank you for opening up your homes and allowing me into your lives.  Thank you so very much.

Snippets of Nora

2012 was an incredible year for my business.  Just incredible.  But, before I post some client favorites from this past year, I thought I'd put up a few of my original muse. Some snippets from her year.

Nora is brave, feisty, smart, sweet, and, apparently, not all that modest.

I cannot wait to see what 2013 has in store for this girl.

Finding Film

Film.  It is an adventure.  One that both inspires and frustrates. There is so very much to learn, to digest, and to practice.  It is all at once exciting and daunting and expensive.

But, I was lucky enough, early on in this adventure, to be taught by the guide of all guides, Jonathan Canlas.  This October, I attended a FIND workshop in Charleston, SC.  Jon is so completely accessible and his openness in turn made film photography, with all of its mind-bending technical variables, accessible to me.  I left Charleston with so much knowledge, so many incredible relationships, and the confidence to go out and get better.

Shooting film makes me slow down, think, connect.

I am so happy to be finding film.
