Babies

tiny fashion | fall

Summer is by far my favorite season.  I love the long days and warm evenings, the dips in the pool, and ocean breezes.   After having a girl, I found that I also loved dressing that baby in sundresses and bloomers.  I just could not get enough of those bloomers.  When the temperatures started falling, I was a bit sad that my girl would finally have to wear pants.  But, much to my surprise, dressing a toddler for fall isn't not so bad after all. Since my kid has a better closet than I do, I thought I'd share some of her tiny fashion in this space.  She really has a knack for mixing patterns.

pretty protection

For the past few months, my phone has been unprotected.  Not smart, I know.  Especially, considering how much I rely on it.  But, I just couldn't find a case that I loved.  Until now.  Behold, my perfectly pretty phone case from Uncommon:

31 Days of Nora | Part 3

This girl.  Both entertains and exhausts me.  Constantly.

She is curious and busy.  I love watching her explore and learn.  It's almost as if you can see the wheels in her little head turning.

I'm so glad that I have these snapshots from the past month.

connections | washington, dc photographer

I've said it before, but I love my job. I love it even more when I get to reconnect with a childhood friend. Christy and I grew up in the same small town and although we've also lived in the same city for the past few years, our paths never crossed. That is until the other week. She and her husband just welcomed their second child, a son, and I was beyond delighted to have the chance to capture some sweet moments of the babe with his sister. Just a beautiful family.

31 Days of Nora | Part 2

Nora's going through a lot of changes.  She's dropping to one nap, getting some teeth, no longer going to day care.  All this is making for a rather spirited July.  Part of me loves the little firecracker that she is developing into and part of me lives in fear of just how willful a 13 month-old can be.

project | 31 days of nora

I have wanted to do a project that involved a daily photograph for a while now, but working outside the home limited me to a very narrow window of opportunity. Seeing Nora in her car seat everyday wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Now that I am working from home, I am able to spend many more waking hours with my babe. At first, I was excited to do a snap-a-picture-a-day-for-a-year.  Then, I thought that perhaps I should be a bit more realistic and try for a month. I'm excited to capture this little period of daily moments.  Here's a look her July so far . . .
